Visual Library does not use traditional tracking cookies. The site instead relies on your browser's local storage for the few essential and functional things it needs to remember, and it embeds a small amount of third-party content that has its own cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics, or tracking pixels of our own.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar browser technology that also stores small pieces of information on your device, but is not sent to our server with every request the way a cookie is. We use local storage, not cookies, for the items below — we cover both here because EU law (see "Do These Require Consent?") treats them the same way.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase session token (local storage) |
Keeps you logged in to your account. Without this, you would need to log in on every page. | Essential | Until you log out |
| gift_end (local storage) |
Stores the expiry time of the welcome offer countdown so it persists when you refresh. | Functional | 2 hours |
| gift_seen (local storage) |
Remembers whether you have already seen the welcome popup so it is not shown again. | Functional | Persistent |
Some pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set YouTube's tracking cookies until you press play. We also load Google Fonts directly from Google's servers, which causes your browser to contact Google directly and may process your IP address. We do not control these third-party data flows — see Google's own policies for details.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or any advertising/analytics tracking of our own. Your browsing behaviour on this site is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. (The embedded content described above is the only third-party exception — see that section.)
Under EU law (the ePrivacy Directive) and Swedish regulations, strictly necessary cookies and equivalent local storage do not require your consent. The session and functional items in the table above fall into this category. We still inform you about them, and about the embedded content, in the interest of transparency.
You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Please note that clearing local storage will sign you out and reset the welcome offer.
Most browsers let you manage this via Settings → Privacy → Cookies (and Site Data / Local Storage).
